I seem to get a kick out of numbers that follow some sort of pattern (ie. my favourite time of day: 12:34). So a steadily changing number, that I can watch everyday, has a high possibility of some pretty attractive numbers.
In comes my Odometer. I watch it every day with the anticipation of see a new nice number. When I do, I pull out my camera phone (pull over if I have to) and document the occasion. I will now share some of these moments with you.

I'm pretty psyched that 80000 is coming up soon. Any numbers that I should watch for?

I really like watching the Olympics. You get to see all these sports which take an incredible amount skill and training, that you don't normally get to watch throughout the year.

That being said, I know what you're thinking. With all of the things that I am able to do, why have I not competed at the Olympics?
I am just not sure if it would be fair to the others. Besides, I'm not very comfortable doing all these things in front of people. I like to keep them to myself.

I came across this today and chuckled a bit. I think #13 should carry over into real life.

1. It is always possible to find a parking spot directly outside or opposite the building you are visiting.

2. When paying for a taxi, don't look at your wallet as you take out a note. Just grab one out at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare.

3. Television news bulletins usually contain a story that affects you personally at the precise moment it's aired.

4. Creepy music (or satanic chanting) coming from a graveyard should always be closely investigated.

5. Any lock can be picked with a credit card or paperclip in seconds. UNLESS it's the door to a burning building with a child inside.

6. If you decide to start dancing in the street, everyone you bump into will know all the steps.

7. All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red digital displays so you know exactly when they are going to explode.

8. Should you wish to pass yourself off as a German officer, it will not be necessary to learn to speak German. Simply speaking English with a German accent will do. Similarly, when they are alone, all German soldiers prefer to speak English to each other.

9. Once applied, lipstick will never rub off. Even while scuba diving.

10. The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window of any building in Paris.

I heard this song not too long ago by the Plain White T's. I like it.
The simplistic sound. It sounds like it's just a guitar, a violin or two and maybe a chello. As far as I can tell the song is about a long distance relationship, and trying to make it work.
I was excited because I thought I had found a new band I could get into (along the lines of a more emo Damien Rice). So I gave a listen to some of their other songs that I could find but wasn't too impressed. I'll have to give them another listen and see what I think the second time through.
I found one song I like though, so in the words of my sister; Yay me!

*Edit* The song Hate (I Really Don't Like You) is growing on me. It would be unfortunate if it was writen about the same girl the other one was written about. Poor Delilah.

I had a profound revelation the other day. For the most part, the people who hear this revelation do not realize its magnitude or depth. This is the kind of thought that kept us up late in the RA room at Humber talking until 2 in the morning.

I realized, one morning just as I was preparing to leave my house, that the day takes a sudden downhill turn right after you put on your socks.

Ponder this with me for a moment. By the time you get around to putting on your socks, your day is pretty much mapped out for you. The vast majority of the time, at this moment the rest of your day has been decided. The likelihood of spontaneity today greatly decreases when you cover your feet.

Put yourself in that place for a moment. What follows the socks? I'll tell you. A snowball leading to the end of your day.

Now think of the moments before you wear socks. What does the rest of your day look like? The possibilities are endless.

It is in this line of thinking that I strongly say that a day where you can walk barefoot, or wear sandals is a good day indeed.

As some of you may know (but most probably don't, as I'm not one to advertise), sometimes things that people do annoy me. I mean there are things that bug everyone, like tapping your fingernails on the table or talking loudly to your cell in a restaurant (those of the McDonald's caliber exempt).

I'm talking about things that as the title says, really shouldn't annoy me. What triggered this impromptu rant is one of those things:

People double clicking on things that don't require double clicking. Why does it bug me? I don't know. It just does. I cringe a little inside if I ever witness it.

Anybody out there have any of these? I sure have more.

I was surprised to see To Kill a Mockingbird not on the list. Or 1984. Or anything by Hemmingway. Especially the way schools build up these titles in every highschooler/colliagate's mind.

This is especially funny if there is a friend close at hand to share in the laughter.

Due to a rare finger-eye related disease, a genetic affliction that she can trace back to her great-great-grandaddy, Ludwig Kressmahn. A great man who had to give up his promising career as a playwright for the queen of Spain. (He wrote her journal for her.)

Fascinating things. What initially looks like just random of swirls and lines, upon closer inspection becomes increasingly more and more complex.

The numbers created the art. Look at the art and you forget about the math, (if it was ever considered). Look deeper, and you're forced to see the patterns, the numbers. And in the patterns you can hopefully see the art.

Try to see the art in things.
